Hi, I’m Emily!
I'm wired to be the most anxious person you'll ever meet. And, since I was about 7 years old, people seemed to feel comfortable talking to me. Combine these two things, and it's no surprise that I felt a drive to learn how to manage and understand my own feelings and apply it to help others. When I discovered psychotherapy, I knew it was the solution I had been searching for and I've been insatiable in building my knowledge and skillset ever since.
My goal in working together? For you to not need me anymore.
Most clients start off by coming in weekly, and then gradually taper off as needed, maybe returning for the occasional booster session when necessary. I love my work and I feel grateful every day that I get to help people for a living.

Work Experience
Throughout my career, I have worked in rape crisis response, violence prevention (McLean Hospital), and college counseling centers (University of Pennsylvania, New York University, and Boston College).
Since starting private practice, I’ve worked to establish myself as a specialist in treating trauma and anxiety, frequently attending trainings and workshops to ensure I'm using the most effective and up-to-date treatment strategies. Over the years I have regularly given lectures and led trainings for post-doctoral fellows in trauma assessment, trauma treatment techniques, and exposure therapy for panic disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. Additionally, I've taught courses in exposure therapy and somatic experiencing at the NYU Silver School of Social Work Trauma Training Program. I also offer direct supervision to clinicians on using CBT, ACT, and acceptance-based behavioral therapies for treating trauma and anxiety disorders.
